Management Team

Ed Macnair – CEO

Ed Macnair is CEO and brings 30 years of sales and business development expertise in the technology and IT security to CensorNet. He has a proven entrepreneurial track record of successfully developing technology companies and leads the company’s sales, marketing and product strategy.

Ed joined CensorNet to accelerate the company’s product development efforts and aggressively grow the web security revenues through its global channel partners. He was previously founder and CEO of SaaSID, a UK based single sign-on and application security vendor, which was acquired by Intermedia Inc. in September 2013. Before Intermedia and SaaSID Macnair was CEO of Marshal, a global web and email security company which merged with US web security provider 8e6 Technologies to form M86 Security. Macnair has also held senior management positions with MessageLabs, Symantec, IBM and Xerox.

 

Craig Probert – Vice President of Sales

Craig Probert has over 30 years’ experience of delivering superior sales and leadership success across Europe. He has a track record in building successful sales teams and has held numerous executive and operational roles at market-leading software companies, where he consistently delivered exceptional revenue growth.

Craig was non-executive director at SaaSID, a UK based single sign-on and application security vendor, which was acquired by Intermedia Inc. in September 2013, and before that he was managing director for EMEA at Chordiant Software. His nine year tenure at Chordiant saw him build a European team that delivered outstanding growth and a class-leading focus on customer service. During this time Chordiant was named as a top-50 fastest growing company, having achieved growth from zero to $75m in revenues in less than five years. Prior to Chordiant, Craig held various executive positions at Oracle over a 15 year period.

 

Tim Lloyd – CTO

Tim Lloyd has over 15 years of practical and commercial experience in the IT sector, with a particular focus on Internet-related technologies and IP-based networks. In 2001 he founded a company focusing on Linux consultancy and bespoke development which is where the idea of CensorNet was first conceived.

Tim co-founded Planet Edge Ltd, a specialist Internet solutions provider, in 1998 where he led a team of developers working on innovative Internet -related systems until it was acquired by NASDAQ- listed Internet investment firm CI4NET.COM. Prior to CensorNet he was director at GlobalFreeway, Australia’s first national free Internet Service Provider, based in Sydney.

 

Alex Kurz – Director of Sales Engineering

Alex Kurz, Director of Sales Engineering at CensorNet, has over 20 years experience in the IT and security software industry. With a wealth of technical knowledge in providing engineering and implementation support to a wide range of corporate clients and service providers, Alex is responsible for growing a strong pre-sales engineer team to support the global adoption of CensorNet’s next generation cloud security solutions. His role also involves facilitating the dialogue with channel partners and customers to feedback requirements into the product development roadmap.

Alex joined CensorNet in February 2015 with the aim of strengthening the company’s position within the channel community and driving adoption amongst customers worldwide.

His experience in cloud security is unquestionable – he was formerly the technical director at Trustwave in EMEA, which acquired M86 Security in 2012, with its WebMarshal and MailMarshal solutions. Prior to this, Alex was director of technical services at M86 Security and senior solutions architect at NetIQ. Alex has also held technical development roles with BMC and CA.

 

Lisa Davis – CFO

Most recently Lisa was finance director at SaaSID, a UK based single sign-on and application security vendor until it was acquired by Intermedia Inc. in September 2013. Prior to SaaSID, she has held a number of senior finance roles with companies whose turnover ranged from £1m to in excess of £100m including Pitney Bowes Ltd, Autoglass Ltd, Belron International Ltd and Audatex (UK) Ltd.

 

Dan Searle – Development Director

Dan Searle is a veteran Linux developer with over 15 years of experience in turning technical architecture concepts into successful software. Dan was the original developer of CensorNet™.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Manchester University and his skills range from embedded systems to kernel hacking and in-depth knowledge of IP network protocols. He is an advocate of open source and regularly contributes bug fixes and code snippets to a variety of projects.

 

Michael Tait – Technical Support Manager

Mick Tait has worked in the Internet industry since 1995, starting his career in technical support with a national ISP, before moving on to development and system administration. Mick has 20 years experience with Linux system administration as well as Unix and Windows operating systems.

Mick has over 10 years of Java programming experience and has worked on projects including an award winning e-commerce product, one of the first e-procurement solutions, a secure payment gateway for the Bank of Ireland and various smaller bespoke developments. He has previously worked on projects for PC World, National Air Traffic Services, Dickies Workwear and The Bank of Ireland to name but a few.
