Windows update breaks NTLM

Published in Things you should know & CensorNet Professional on October 19, 2010 by Administrator

A recent update to Windows Server which claims to fix a re-authentication bug in SSL has also inadvertently broken the NTLM authentication for HTTPS sites in CensorNet. If you find suddenly that HTTPS sites start asking for authentication, you need to check on your Windows Server if patch number kb2360131 has been installed. If so, please uninstall it for the meantime. Special thanks goes out to Wouter van den Beld who not only reported the issue, but tracked it down and let us know exactly which patch it was that had caused the issue in the first place smile
