ADAgent service will not start due to dependencies issue

Synopsis

ADAgent service will not start and event viewer complains of dependency issues. The server is running a non-English language pack.

In older versions of the ADAgent service (pre 9th March 2011), it had a dependency on another service which was referenced in English. This would cause an issue on non-English language servers.

Workaround: To resolve the issue, you should configure the ADAgent service to use the short name of the dependent service instead. To do this, execute the following command on the server where ADAgent is installed:

sc config "censornet authentication service" depend= netman

Start the CensorNet Authentication Service.

Fix: As of 9th March 2011, an updated ADAgent download is available that corrects this issue (v1.1.0). Either use the workaround above or uninstall ADAgent and download the latest version
