First of all you should double check:

  • The IP address of the CensorNet server is correct
  • The password you have set on CensorNet is exactly the same as that on the AD Sync tool. The passwords must match exactly. Try resetting them again to double check.

If you are still having problems, check the Windows Event log for an alert by the ADSync service. If you see an error such as this:

Event Type: Error Event Source: CensorNet Syncronization Service Event Category: None Event ID: 0 Date: 17/12/2009 Time: 12:39:36 User: N/A Computer: TRINIT Description: Service cannot be started. System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at CensorNet_Sync_Service.CNSyncService.OnStart(String[] args) at System.ServiceProcess.ServiceBase.ServiceQueuedMainCallback(Object state)

Then please uninstall the CensorNet AD Sync tool and re-install it with the actual "administrator" user account rather than an account that has been given administrator privileges. If you have any further problems please contact Technical Support
