Could not retrieve the Host name of the peer

Synopsis

Some or all browsers display the error "Could not retrieve the Host name of the peer – Protocol not available"

Article

This error appears when CensorNet is configured to identify computers by hostname (under System -> Configuration -> Computer Identification) but the IP address of the computer cannot be resolved to a hostname, i.e. it has no reverse DNS entry.

You should update your DNS server with a reverse DNS entry for every IP address that will connect to CensorNet. You can check the IP address has a reverse address by typing:

nslookup <IP Address>

In a Windows command prompt.

If you are not able to do this you should change the Computer Identification mode to IP address.
