This article explains the use of wild cards in URLs entered into the Custom URL filter.
There have always been implicit wildcards in urls. For example, when you enter google.com into the url box, what the CN actually blocks (or allows) is *google.com/*
Current releases of the CensorNet allow you to add additional explicit wildcards in the urls you enter into the Custom URL filter.
Since the implicit wild cards are still present, you can enter wild cards either at the end of the domain part of the url or the beginning of the path part. The implicit ones are at the beginning of the domain part and the end of the path.
The following table will give some examples :-

The left hand column shows what you enter into the Custom URL entry. The right hand side shows what is actually blocked or permitted.
