This article describes how to configure Cloud Link for fail open, so that Web access will be open and unfiltered should the remote server connection be lost.
For some, it is better to provide open Internet access than no Internet access when a problem occurs. The problem could be that the local CensorNet Professional server has failed or there's a routing problem preventing a connection to your Hosted Web Security cluster. In this situation, web browsing would normally be disabled temporarily.
You can alter this behaviour so that instead, web access is granted but it will be completely open and unfiltered.
To do this, right click on the Cloud Link tray app and select Configuration.

You will be prompted to enter the configuration password (set during installation of Cloud Link):

Click continue and then you will be presented with the Configuration dialog.

Tick the "Fail open enabled" checkbox, then press Apply and then OK.
IMPORTANT: With fail open mode enabled and a failure situation arises, web browsing may be delayed slightly as for each request Cloud Link is checking whether the remote server is available again.
