You may have encountered a file with a MIME type that is not currently contained within CensorNet's database. So you went to Filters->MIME Type Filter and added a new type. However, users are still downloading files of this type.
You may have encountered a file with a MIME type that is not currently contained within CensorNet's database. So you went to Filters->MIME Type Filter and added a new type. However, users are still downloading files of this type.
This happens because adding a MIME type to the filter merely means that there is the possibility of making use of it in a policy. It does not actually propagate to a policy on its own.
In order to block files with the new type you need to go to Policies->Manage Policies. Double click on the policy/ies that you want to modify, scroll down to MIME Type, and set the relevant type to BLOCKED and click the Update Policy button.
There will be a delay of around two minutes (200 seconds) before this change takes effect.
Note: You may also experience this situation if the site is classified in a category set to Allow because the Content Classifier module is parsed before the MIME Type module. Use of the Custom URL filter will give you the fine grained control you need.
