Synopsis

The error message: "Bad request. Please check the system time of the machine from where you are loading the application" appears when browsing the Hosted Web Security web portal.

There is inbuilt security into the Hosted Web Security web control panel to prevent replay attacks and to expire commands to the API after 15 minutes. As a result, it is important that the PC you are using to access the web control panel has its time and timezone set accurately. The web application calculates the UTC time based on the time and time zone of the browser and compares this to the UTC time on the server. If the time difference is 15 minutes or more, the error will be displayed as a security measure.
