The system works by redirecting the e-mail for your domain by altering the MX (Mail eXchange) record (part of DNS). The MX record determines where e-mail will be delivered so it is changed to point to our servers. The redirected e-mail then flows through the CensorNet MailSafe cloud where it is filtered for spam, viruses and images, and optionally archived for safe keeping. Once the e-mail has been filtered, it is sent on to your own e-mail server which means you are only receiving clean e-mail rather than spam as well. This helps to reduce the load on your e-mail server and improve your bandwidth.
