Malware Prevention Module
Today, it is believed that over half of all PCs have some form of malware infection. Most of these infections came from users voluntarily downloading and installing programs that contained hidden malware.
The malware being created today is more malicious and dangerous than ever. For example, these programs can install keyloggers to steal passwords or secretly take control of a PC to act as a "zombie" or "bot" to relay spam or conduct denial-of-service attacks - all without the knowledge of the end user.
How does it work?
The Malware Prevention Module contains millions of URL's specifying the location and category (clean or malware) of executable files found on the Internet. The system is based on a patentpending automatic process of downloading and testing every Windows executable on the Internet. Newly discovered files are thoroughly examined via multiple methods including a behaviour analysis system which installs each program to determine whether it is malware or not. This process feeds directly into your CensorNet Pro URL database on a daily basis.
New Categories
The Malware Prevention module adds the following new categories to your existing CensorNet Pro URL database:-
Malware Domains - Malware was found on the entire domain, category is applied at domain level.
Malware Objects, Infected - Indicates Malware was found in specific executable, but not in sufficient numbers to classify the entire domain. Rating is applied at object level.
Malware Objects, Clean - When domain was scanned, no executables were found. Rating is applied at domain level.
Malware, Clean - Entire domain was scanned, no Malware was found in any of the executables. Rating is applied at domain level.
Malware Objects, Partial - Domain was scanned and some Malware was found, however, not in sufficient quanities to classify the entire domain. Domains classified as POTMALen will likely have object level entries for NOMALOen and MALOBJen.
