Progress Distribution to drive partner recruitment throughout region

Basingstoke, UK – 14 December, 2015 – CensorNet, the complete cloud security company, today announces it has partnered with Progress Distribution to expand its footprint in the Middle East region and address the concerns posed by the increased use of cloud-based applications in the business environment. The distributor will boost its information security portfolio by adding CensorNet’s web security, email security and desktop monitoring solutions. Based in Dubai, Progress Distribution will lead CensorNet’s partner recruitment drive throughout the Middle East region.

Following a number of high profile cyber attacks in the region – most notably the one on Saudi state-owned petroleum company Saudi Aramco* – organisations in the Middle East are increasingly bulking up their information security defences. A major concern, in particular, is the emerging use of cloud computing technologies, and the associated security risks they present to businesses

“Due to a mixture of cultural and infrastructure issues, the Middle East is only now fully embracing the cloud. However, with the cloud comes a whole host of security issues that currently available solutions simply don’t meet,” explains Gareth Morgan, sales director, Progress Distribution. “We required a solution that could address the issues CIOs are having in the region especially with Shadow IT and the increased use of cloud-based applications in the business realm.”

Following an extensive audit of cloud security solutions, Progress Distribution turned to CensorNet, whose solutions enable organisations to uncover shadow IT and identify which cloud applications are being used on the network – authorised or otherwise. CensorNet’s Secure Web Gateway solution, which has inbuilt Cloud Application Control functionality, provides organisations with real-time visibility and control of all aspects of web access and cloud application use across all devices, including BYOD, in a single solution. This level of visibility enables businesses to assess risk and take action.

“We see CensorNet’s cloud application control (CAC) capabilities in particular as being a key differentiator in the region. In addition, we know that the management team at CensorNet has a real history of success in the Middle East and is entirely focused on growing its channel presence here,” added Morgan.

Progress Distribution was recently set up by a management team with over 20 years of experience in the Middle East. It works with a group of innovative vendors to help its channel partners take advantage of emerging trends and technologies to differentiate themselves.

“To flourish in the emerging Middle East market place, it is important for vendors to work with local experts who truly understand the unique challenges brought upon by the various cultures and currencies in the region,” comments Mike Hibbert, director of CEMEA, CensorNet. “The team at Progress Distribution has decades of collective experience in the launch and ongoing success of information security vendors in the region. This partnership is a key milestone in our channel strategy as we extend our market reach into this region and its industries.”
